The DAM AI Team at Erste Digital delivers machine learning and AI solutions for internal clients across the entire Erste Group. Our focus lies on knowledge retrieval systems following RAG patterns and Agentic AI. On the technology side, we work with Databricks on Azure and AWS, embracing modern agent driven technology and tools. 

What to do:

• Contribute to existing use cases within the DAM AI Team, supporting the development of Generative AI products — including RAG-based chatbots, AI agents, and copilots powered by Large Language Models.

• Assist in building and maintaining backend services for knowledge retrieval systems and agentic AI workflows.

• Work with Databricks on Azure under the guidance of senior team members.

• Participate in code reviews and learn best practices for code quality and technical standards.

• Gain hands-on experience with modern development tools and practices, including AI-assisted coding agents.

• Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders across Erste Group.

You check these boxes:

• Ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Initial experience with Python and an interest in web service frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.

• Curiosity about Large Language Models, RAG architectures, and agentic AI.

• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts.

• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases is a plus.

• Good communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders in a clear and structured way.

• Bonus points for any exposure to Databricks, Azure, AWS, OpenAI SDK, vector databases or REST APIs.

• Eagerness to learn, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work in an international team.
