Job description

Working with us means believing in the future; in the great people who are shaping it together every day and in the wide-ranging career paths it opens up. #believeinyourself

Erste Group was founded in 1819 as the first Austrian savings bank and today it is one of the largest banking groups in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). As an attractive employer, Erste Group offers interesting career opportunities in an international environment.

As Senior AI Advisor, you will operate at the intersection of strategy, platform stewardship, and portfolio execution. You will help set the Group direction for AI, while ensuring our Data & Analytics (D&A) platform and data products deliver business value and remain compliant and fit for purpose.

What to do:

  • Champion business adoption of the Group Data & Analytics platform and promote the use of new data products, aligning stakeholders around a shared roadmap and performance goals.

  • Co-develop and evolve the Group AI Strategy and operating model across entities.

  • Shape and manage the AI portfolio, including OKRs, value cases, and cross-entity synergies.

  • Align and support AI initiatives, translating emerging trends (GenAI, agentic orchestration, safety tooling) into actionable bets.

  • Co-define and enforce data product standards (quality, lineage, privacy-by-design, reusability).

  • Contribute to AI governance and compliance, including EU AI Act assessments and risk frameworks.

  • Engage stakeholders, prepare leadership materials, and enable adoption through playbooks and templates.

Job requirements

You check these boxes:

  • 7+ years of experience in strategy, product/portfolio management, or transformation—ideally in financial services, tech, or top-tier consulting.

  • Proven experience in data product management or platform product management (data/ML platforms preferred).

  • Strong grasp of enterprise data & analytics concepts (data products, quality, lineage, MLOps, platform operating models).

  • Solid understanding of governance in regulated environments (AI risk, model risk, privacy/security); EU AI Act exposure is a plus.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication; able to synthesize complexity into crisp narratives and decisions.

  • Hands-on, outcome-oriented mindset; comfortable shaping strategy and rolling up sleeves to operationalize it.

  • English proficient; German is a plus.

Why you will like us:

  • A high-impact role in a strategic function.

  • Close collaboration with senior leadership and cross-border teams.

  • A modern and flexible working environment in the heart of Vienna.

  • Opportunities to shape the bank’s responsible AI journey and grow into a leadership role.

  • Discover and enjoy the benefits of Erste Group.

  • The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 55.176,-- gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!

  • We offer our employees the opportunity to divide their hours between working from home and at the office.

  • We consider the diversity of our employees as key to innovation and success. As employer we are proud to offer everyone equal chances, irrespective of age, skin colour, religious belief, gender, sexual orientation or origin.
